Free Claude rank tracking starts with a useful question and a response you can inspect. This tool checks where your brand appears in an answer you paste from Claude. It counts exact text mentions, compares competitors and exports the results. However, Claude does not provide a fixed search results page, so these measurements are not Google-style rankings.

See where your brand appears
Analyze an actual response you paste from Claude. Compare exact mentions, review their context and export the evidence.
Use the name that appears in the answer. Websites match the hostname, not an inferred company name.
Up to 10 distinct names. Enter aliases as separate labels.
The prompt is not analyzed or included in exports. Keep your own dated record for repeat comparisons.
Maximum 500,000 characters. Pasted text stays in this tab; this tool does not upload or save it. Avoid confidential information.
Ready for your pasted response. No automatic tracking is enabled.
Your response analysis
Read this correctly: counts are case-insensitive text matches. First character is 1-based. First-mention order compares entered labels in this response; it does not identify recommendation strength, sentiment or a search ranking.

What Is Claude Rank Tracking?
Claude rank tracking is a practical name for reviewing brand visibility in Claude responses. For example, you might ask about project planning software and check whether your company appears. You can then inspect how the answer describes your product and which alternatives it names.
This Claude rank tracker tool analyzes user-provided text. It does not open Claude, submit prompts, authenticate responses or collect answers automatically. Therefore, you need to obtain an actual response yourself and paste it here. Degates is independent of Anthropic and is not an official Claude product.
How to Use Free Claude Rank Tracking
- Enter your brand name as it appears in the answer, or enter its website hostname.
- Add up to ten competitors if you want a comparison. Separate names with commas or new lines.
- Record the prompt in the optional context field. Only the response is analyzed.
- Paste the actual Claude response and choose Analyze response.
- Read the counts and highlighted text. Finally, copy the summary or download the CSV.
For a quick demonstration, choose Load hypothetical sample. The sample is clearly fictional; it is not evidence of what Claude said. To analyze your own answer afterward, replace every sample field. Editing an input hides the previous results until you run the analysis again.
How Claude Brand Visibility Works
A mention shows that a name occurs in one answer. However, that alone does not establish a recommendation. The response could describe a limitation, quote someone else or refer to a different business with the same name. As a result, the highlighted context matters more than a large count.
Our Claude brand visibility checker uses deterministic text rules rather than a hidden score. It reports the same result for the same inputs. In addition, it identifies the exact text being matched, so you can see whether a website hostname or a company name was analyzed.
Exact text matches and ambiguous names
Matching ignores case and normalizes Unicode compatibility forms. It respects letter, number and underscore boundaries, so “Acme” does not match “Acmeology.” Accented letters remain meaningful: “Cafe” and “Café” are different names. Names with different spelling or punctuation are not silently merged.
Single-word names receive a potential-ambiguity warning because ordinary words can also be brands. Nevertheless, longer names still need human review. The tool detects exact text, not the identity or intent behind that text. If aliases matter, enter each alias as a separate label and review overlapping counts.
How to Track Brand Mentions in Claude
First, select a small set of questions that reflect real customer decisions. A useful prompt might ask which tools suit a five-person design team. Avoid inserting your brand into every question, because that changes what the observation tells you.
Next, record the date, exact prompt, model label and any browsing or conversation context visible in Claude. Paste one complete answer into the analyzer. Then save the CSV alongside your own record. This tool does not retain history, so future comparisons depend on the records you keep.
Finally, repeat a documented method rather than comparing unrelated prompts. Review multiple answers before drawing conclusions. If you want to examine the pages that support your brand information, use the GEO website audit checklist as a separate review process.
Claude Rank Tracking vs Google Rank Tracking
Google rank tracking usually records a page’s position for a query under defined search conditions. In contrast, this tool records text mentions in an answer you supply. There is no equivalent search position to retrieve from that pasted answer.
Therefore, do not treat first-mention order as a replacement for a search ranking. A brand mentioned last might receive the strongest recommendation, while a brand named first might be rejected. Read the full answer before making a marketing decision.
Understanding Mention Frequency and Recommendation Order
Mention frequency is the number of exact text matches for each entered label. First character is the location of its first match, counted from one using Unicode code points in the original pasted text. Spaces, punctuation and line breaks count toward that location.
First-mention order compares those first locations among the labels you entered. For example, order two means that one entered label appeared earlier. Tied locations share an order. This is textual order only: the analyzer does not infer a recommendation list, sentiment, citation quality or endorsement.
Website inputs match the hostname, with an optional “www.” prefix in the response. Paths and schemes do not change the hostname being counted. However, a website entry does not automatically match its business name, email addresses or other subdomains. Enter the business name separately when that is what the answer uses.
How to Compare Competitors in Claude Responses
Use consistent labels across your comparisons. Otherwise, one company may appear to have fewer mentions simply because you searched for its domain while the response used its name. Also, check whether a short label describes an ordinary concept in the answer.
Each label is counted independently. Consequently, “Acme” and “Acme Notes” can both match the same passage. The highlighting displays the longest match at a shared start, while the comparison table keeps each label’s count. Do not add overlapping counts together as if they represented different recommendations.
Practical Worked Example
Hypothetical example — not a real Claude response: a team compares three fictional products. Its pasted text reads: “Cedar Tasks supports task lists. Northstar Notes focuses on shared notes. Harbor Board offers visual planning. Northstar Notes may suit teams that want simple documentation.”
- Northstar Notes: two exact mentions; second among the entered labels by first occurrence.
- Cedar Tasks: one exact mention; first by textual occurrence.
- Harbor Board: one exact mention; third by textual occurrence.
These counts describe that specific text. They do not prove which product Claude prefers, and they say nothing about other answers. Instead, a reviewer should read each description, confirm that it refers to the intended product and compare it with current facts.
Common Claude Tracking Mistakes
- Calling every mention a recommendation. Inspect the surrounding sentence before assigning meaning.
- Changing several conditions at once. Keep prompt and collection notes so comparisons remain understandable.
- Counting your prompt as response evidence. Paste the answer in the response field and keep the prompt separate.
- Ignoring aliases and ambiguous words. Review the matched text and test relevant spellings separately.
- Confusing repeated wording with reach. Five mentions in one answer are not five users or five independent observations.
- Uploading private conversations carelessly. Remove sensitive details before using any analysis workflow.
For a separate analysis of word repetition in your own content, try the keyword frequency and density checker. It measures content wording; it does not predict whether Claude will mention a brand.
Limitations of AI Visibility Tracking
The analyzer cannot verify that pasted text came from Claude. It also cannot recover missing context, interpret images or determine why an answer contains a name. Furthermore, it provides no historical monitoring, scheduled checks, live API connection or automatic trend chart.
Analysis stays in the browser tab and does not create a server-side response record. Copying results and downloading a CSV are deliberate actions you control. Exports include labels and metrics, but exclude your prompt and raw response. Clearing the form removes the tool’s current inputs and results.
The response limit is 500,000 characters. Highlighting is capped at 1,000 collected matches to keep the page usable; the table still counts all matches. HTML is displayed as plain text rather than rendered, so matches inside pasted markup may also count. For the cleanest evidence, paste the visible answer text.
A live integration would require authorized authentication, usage limits and a separate cost review. See Anthropic’s official API overview and rate and spending limit documentation for those requirements. This free manual tool makes no API requests and needs no API credits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this free Claude rank tracking software?
Yes, the manual response analyzer is free to use without a Degates account. However, you supply the actual response yourself. Access to Claude is separate and depends on the service you use.
What is the best free Claude rank tracker for my workflow?
Choose a tool that states what it measures and lets you inspect the evidence. This analyzer suits manual, single-response reviews with CSV exports. If you need scheduled collection or historical dashboards, those features are outside its scope.
Does this tool connect to Claude in real time?
No. It analyzes only the response you paste. The optional prompt field records context within the current form; it does not send a question to Claude.
Why does a brand name have an ambiguity warning?
A short or single-word name may refer to something other than your company. Therefore, exact text matches need a context check. The tool does not silently treat every occurrence as a verified brand reference.
Can I compare results over time?
Yes, by keeping your own dated exports and collection notes. Use consistent prompts and labels, and retain the original response in your own records if appropriate. The tool itself does not save or retrieve previous sessions.
Will this improve my position in Claude?
No visibility improvement is guaranteed. The tool helps inspect evidence, while changes to your website require a separate assessment. Free Claude rank tracking is most useful when you combine careful collection, honest interpretation and practical follow-up. Explore the free Degates SEO tools for related checks.
